We went in around 8 pm, not sure when they closed or if they were still serving food. (They're open til 11pm) It's a large space with people mainly congregating at the bar. We sat at a high top between the bar and the dining room. Our server was amazing! Bubbly, knowledgeable and fast to bring our food out and clear the dishes. She hustled and did her job efficiently, like a true veteran. We started our culinary experience with a charcuterie board, as they were all out of the empanada. It had prosciutto, salami, smoked gouda and a cranberry Cheddar cheese (very crumbly, but delicious!) The savory mustard and pickles complemented the figs and apricots perfectly, when topped with a drizzle of honey. There was nothing to serve the honey with or spread the mustard onto the toast, so we had to use our dinnerware. We both ordered the short ribs with mashed potatoes and asparagus. One was plated absolutely perfectly with an even amount of food centered on the plate. The other looked like they were running out of asparagus and mashed potatoes. The portion of short rib looked deceivin. It was very rich, tender and perfectly cooked. And very filling! We finished our meal with a creme brule, which was topped with fruit, and very creamy and delightful! We plan to return to try the rest of the menu!
Met friends on Saturday evening and went to Hagan's Grill for cocktails and appetizers. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the amazing service from the the bartender. He made our drinks perfectly. I recommend the Italian Margarita! We ordered a couple of appetizers. Crab Cakes were delish, Brie En Croute was fabulous, however the calamari was just mediocre. The atmosphere was relaxing and rustic. Exactly my type of place.
Hagan's is a cozy choice in the Hampton area. The menu changes seasonally and contains a variety of options. This visit really blew my mind. The Blackened Salmon was cooked perfectly and paired well with the flavorful mango & pineapple salsa. We were also pleasantly surprised with the Creme Brulee and my husband's swordfish. Prices are reasonable, and you can easily spend under 100 for a delicious meal. The service at Hagan's is unmatched! Cassie called before our reservation to confirm our table choice, and all of the staff were the sweetest. Dora, the owner, truly cares about making her guests happy. We'll be back soon.
Happy Heatwave Seacoast Eaters!!! At least it's not a dry heat, right? Saturday's date night was another one of my choices. This too, was a restaurant we had never been to before, but I have been keeping an eye on for a while. We jumped in the car and headed south to Hampton to Hagan's Grill at 6 High St. We were seated at a high-top in the front window and began looking over the menu. My wife ordered a French Kiss Martini(Pic 1). The drink is made with Grey Goose Vodka, Chambord and pineapple juice. I asked Jenn C, our waitress, to have the bartender make me a refreshing drink(Pic 2). She came back with a creation made of Grey Goose Vodka, grapefruit juice, simple syrup and soda water. It was just what I had hoped for, refreshing! For an appetizer, we ordered a bowl of the Soup Special to share(Pic 3). This was a golden watermelon, cucumber and mint gazpacho. You could taste every ingredient. The flavor combination was amazing and the soup light and very refreshing. We both absolutely loved it. For dinner, my wife ordered the Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken(Pic 4). The romaine was crispy, the garlic croutons were the right consistency and the dressing was light and flavorful. The chicken was moist and tender after being cooked perfectly, making her meal a fabulous choice for a very warm evening. For my dinner, I made up for the both of us. I ordered the Surf & Turf(Pic 5). The 8 oz filet mignon I had cooked medium rare. The spices used gave the meat a bold flavor and it was salted just right. The Lobster tail(or lobstah tail) was served with a side of warm drawn butter( or buttah if you prefer). Tell me, does it get any better than that??? My meal also included whipped potato and asparagus, which by the way, was perfect. You know how it can be a little stringy, yeah, this wasn't. I had Jenn bring me a glass of wine that would pair well with my meal. She brought me a beautiful red blend that was terrific(Pic 6). For dessert, we decided on the Ricotta Cheese Donuts with Blueberry Sauce for dipping(Pic 7). The donuts were warm and had a slight crisp on the outside, but were fluffy and delicate on the inside. The blueberry sauce was freshly made and had that wild blueberry flavor. Dusted with powdered sugar, this dessert was sinfully perfect!!! We were so glad to have made the trip to Hagan's Grill. The restaurant has a great atmosphere. Everyone there was super friendly and Jenn C did an outstanding job taking care of us. You could tell everyone worked together as a team and love their jobs. The food was enough to make us want to come back for more. My filet was one of the very best I've had in a long time. The menu is extensive and offers something for everyone. You should add them to your list, no question. Dine on!
There is a reason why Hagan's is consistently packed with people. The food may just be the best in the Hampton Beach area. Everything from the app to the desert were phenomenal. Prosciutto Wrapped Cod, Shrimp Linguine and Crispy Skin Salmon. All fresh and perfectly cooked. Then a brownie sundae to end it all. The wait staff was very knowledgeable and friendly and recommended a bourbon when the one I wanted was 86'd. Did I use that right? 86'd? I don't work in the industry, I just hang out in them. Gimme a break
What a wonderful dinning experience we had, we had the roasted artichoke hearts with peppers plus the vegetables spring rolls. Our linguine and clams were fantastic and they also accommodate my wife with oil instead of cream. Lovely spot if you want to get away for the tourists areas and have a drink with your friends. Fine dining at its best and definitely a must to try :)
Let me tell this place is amazing. Service was on point. It has a old school nostalgia feel to it. Let me also tell you the food was phenomenal. I had fish and chip it was the most amazing fish I've had and I'm a New England girl born and raised in Rhode Island. It was so flaky and just the right amount of crisp and the french fries were so good. My daughter had a blt and she torn up her whole plate. My youngest who is autistic has a cheeseburger and he is picky he ate his food up. We will come again we will drive 2 hrs to eat her again if I could I'd give the 10 stars that is how good it was and the prices were reasonable.
We had a great dining experience at Hagans! Started with fried artichoke hearts; they were light and crispy mixed with sweet peppers, followed by fish and chips; amazing fresh piece of haddock. I had the pork medallions that had a sweet blueberry sauce, and wonderfully paired with sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts. We finished our meal with the best creme brulee! 10/10 Thank you to Joel our bartender/server who was kind and professional!
